Elizabeth J Somers (founder Mount Vernon Seminary and College) & Marjorie Merriweather Post (philanthropist, art collector, businesswoman, and Mount Vernon alumna) built strong foundations for education and cultural heritage. Join us for a fascinating panel discussion with Hillwood Museum archivist, Jason Speck, and Hillwood Chief Curator, Wilfried Zeisler, in conversation with GW’s archivist, Brigette Kamsler. What might we learn about these women from their archives and collections?

Speakers
The yearly Women’s Leadership Conference provides a platform for students and alumnae to engage in conversations that examine leadership role models and celebrates the accomplishments of our alumnae. We invite panelists to share stories of innovative programs, research, community building, and personal experiences that expand our understanding of the world and each other. We encourage our students to see the potential agency and power inside themselves through engagement with successful pathbreakers, visionary leaders, and committed citizens.
