Paige Norman

Paige Norman (IP, 2012-2013), front and center, and her team mate preparing for their 1,000 mile canoe race in Alaska.

Paige Norman (IP, 2012-2013) wrote us about her upcoming exciting adventure:

Some exciting news for me is that I will soon be embarking on a 1,000 mile canoe race in Alaska! My teammate and I are raising money to help girls get involved with sports and outdoor activities. We have a websiteFacebook page, and GoFundMe where you can find more information!

The race starts next Monday (7/18/16) and we can be tracked through our Facebook or the Yukon 1000 tracker (http://yukon1000.com/16y1k/results.php). When we finish, we will be the first all-female team to complete the world's longest canoe race!

Enjoying my post-grad life, I've recently been promoted to paralegal at Fensterheim & Bean, PC (Washington, DC) and apprentice at Silk Road Dance Company.

Mollie Bowman (IP, 2012-2013) wrote us about her many recent accomplishments:

I'm currently in Columbus, Ohio helping the communications shop for Hillary for America. I'll be returning in August to finish my Masters of Arts in Media and Strategic Communication in SMPA and plan to graduate with that in May. I will also be working with Sweetgreen doing community marketing, as well as managing the Capitol Advertising team (GW's six-credit advertising capstone that participates in the National Student Advertising Competition (which we won at the district and semi-final level this year) in the business school--I'll be in touch with someone WLP about recruiting some WLP alumnae (who are now juniors or seniors) later this fall!

This spring, I won the GW Wall of Fame Award for my student leadership contributions, as well as Greek Woman of the Year for my tenure as Panhellenic President and the women's empowerment initiatives I worked to implement within the Greek community. I was also awarded the Eaton Foundation Fellowship prize in the School of Media and Public Affairs, which is a scholarship towards the combined B.A./M.A. program I'm in at SMPA!

Nicole Compton

Nicole Compton (GEB, 2012-2013) wanted to inform us as to her plans to continue her education:

I just graduated with a major in International Affairs and concentration in conflict resolution as well as a minor in Journalism. I have been awarded a Boren Scholarship to study Swahili in Tanzania. The Boren scholarship, an initiative of the National Security Education Program, provides funding opportunities for US students to study less commonly taught languages. In exchange for the funding, scholars and fellows commit to working for the federal government for one year after completing in the national security arena.

Hannah Stambaugh (IAC, 2012-2013)

I graduated Summa Cum Laude in International Affairs in January 2016. I'm very excited (and very nervous) to be starting law school this fall! I'll be starting my 1L year at American University Washington College of Law with plans to pursue international human rights law. This summer, I am working as a client services associate at Food and Friends, a food justice nonprofit that provides home-delivered meals, groceries, and nutritional counseling to individuals in the DMV living with HIV/AIDS, cancer, or other life-challenging illnesses.
