Judy Lane Rogers, MVC ’74, joined GW’s Board of Trustees on July 1, 2016. She is a long-standing member of the Mount Vernon National Advisory Council, and co-chairs the Mentoring Program for the Elizabeth J. Somers Women’s Leadership Program. Judy also collaborated with the Global Women’s Institute on “I Am Malala: A Resource Guide for Educators.”

Judy has an extensive background in school leadership, which spans over 20 years. She served as a public school teacher and subsequently as an elementary principal in Massachusetts. During the same time, she earned a doctorate in Educational Leadership. Currently Judy teaches graduate students, who are aspiring principals; and coaches new principals. Her background includes a strong focus and passion for early education, an area that she is sought after for consultation. Judy is also employed part time as a Kindergarten Coordinator for the North Andover Public School District.

In her spare time, Judy enjoys traveling with her husband, baking and spending time with her four grandsons.

Judy is looking forward to her role as alumni Trustee and opportunities to collaborate and build consensus on matters important to GW. She also hopes that, as a Trustee, she can be a voice on campus to carry on the Legacy of Elizabeth J. Somers.
