Meet Erin Moretti, who was a member of the GEB cohort from 2009-2010.
Life after WLP
Upon graduating from WLP, I received a finalist award for the Eckles Prize for a paper I wrote while in WLP. I also presented the paper during the WLP Writing conference. During my junior year, I interned at GW’s Investment Office which manages the endowment. The same year, I was accepted into the Real Estate and Finance Alliance which is a mentorship program that connects a select group of GW students to GW alum in the Real Estate and Finance industries. In addition, upon entering the program I was chosen to represent our group as one of the two co-ambassadors. Through the help of this program, I had the opportunity to intern at J.P. Morgan in their Private Bank during the summer of my junior year. Although this was a great opportunity, I will be working at Fannie Mae in a two-year rotational finance and accounting program in their DC office starting in August of 2013.
On WLP Academics
The rigor of the humanities classes helped develop my writing skills and led to me receiving a finalist award for the Eckles prize. I was able to improve my writing and receive distinguished honors for my work as a result of taking my writing class with Professor Salchak. He challenged us to critically analyze rhetoric within disciplines concerning a topic of our interest. I am proud to have successfully written about a topic of interest using the skills I learned during the course of the semester. I have carried these skills into other courses and internships.
