For our WLP community service project, Javeria Khan, Karla Infante, and I teamed up to put together a Valentine’s Day Gram fundraiser to benefit the Syrian American Rescue Network and Flying High for Haiti. After advertising the fundraiser to fellow GW students and WLP parents, we delivered over 100 grams to students on both the Mount Vernon and Foggy Bottom campuses. Each gram included chocolate, a carnation, a note from the sender, and live music. All three of us loved seeing the smiling faces of the students as they received their gram. As a result of this fundraiser, we were able to raise over $300 to be split among the two organizations. This could not have been possible without the support from Mary Buckley and others at WLP. We thank them for helping us carry out this rewarding community service project.
