As Director of the Elizabeth J. Somers’ Women’s Leadership Program, I am pleased to share news of a recent philanthropic commitment of $250,000 to create the Women’s Leadership Program Endowment. The purpose of the endowment fund will be to support the broad needs of the Women’s Leadership Program, including faculty support, speaker stipends, summer internships, and emergency funds for WLP students.
Our anonymous donor is a Mount Vernon seminary graduate who made this commitment after coming to the Mount Vernon campus at George Washington University and visiting with our fantastic students, faculty, and staff. She saw in person how the legacy of Elizabeth J. Somers and her passion for women’s education continues through the Women’s Leadership Program.
