Madeleine Livingston and Professor Michelle Allendoerfer

Madeleine Livingston (IP 2010-11) and Amanda Dudley (IAC 2010-11) participated in the Elliott School Undergraduate Scholars Program this year.  As part of the program, Maddie and Mandy developed research papers, took two courses that provided them with in-depth support to improve their research skills, and presented their papers at a research conference hosted by the program.

Maddie’s paper was titled “Greenland of Opportunity: Modeling the Prospects for Sustainable Resource

Development in Greenland.”  This project necessitated qualitative research in the form of interviews, a survey and a focus group with Greenlandic public officials, citizens and academic experts. In addition to presenting at the Elliott School Scholars conference on April 16th, Maddie was also invited to present her work at the Walsh Exchange Conferece at Georgetown University.  Professor Michelle Allendoerfer, coordinator of the IP cohort, was Maddie’s faculty advisor and worked closely with Maddie all year.

Congratulations to Maddie and Mandy on their great work!
